Photovoltaic solar energy is particularly well suited to decentralized rural electrification.
Worldwide, projects are developed to put this technology to good use. In Morocco, Total Energie in connection with the local authorities brought electrification to 16,000 scattered households far away from the big cities and the electricity grid. Using solar panels produced in its factory in France, each home is supplied with a panel and a battery that will supply power for lighting and some appliances never seen before in this rural areas.

Solar Energy:

Solar radiation can currently be used in two different systems: active solar heating, in which solar collectors convert sunlight directly into heat, and photovoltaics, in which solar panels convert solar radiation to electricity.

The installed capacity is about 400 MW worldwide only, but rising 20% per year.

Like all renewable energies, Solar Energy is inexhaustible
