Sheltered by the Fondation de France, Fondation Villette-Entreprises is an independent,
non-profit organisation created at the joint initiative of the Cité des sciences et de l'industrie'
s Management Board and prominent business leaders.
Its major goal is to promote scientific and technical culture for the general public, both in
France and abroad. It also strives to nourish public debates on key current events and topics with
impartial, accurate and quite thorough information.
It acts by relying on the animation and communication expertise of science museums, as well as
on their excellent image as a credible source of information. For it is important to emphasize that
messages validated and disseminated by science museums enjoy an exceptionally high level of
credibility and trust with the public, superior to that granted most other sources.
To carry out its programme, the Fondation Villette-Entreprises
- takes an active role in the development of cultural projects dealing with science, technology and industry,
- encourages its corporate members to partner with the Cite des sciences et de l'industrie or other science museums, both in France and abroad,
- promotes concrete projects in education, training and career development designed for young people, that its members can then back up,
- supports actions of internal or external communication by
corporate sponsors engaged in partnerships with the Cite,
- enables the" Collège de la Cité" to benefit from the business community's expertise in its conferences and debates.

Many projects built on the joint support of a group of companies pooling their resources with a
network of museums based in various countries (some of them with significant backing by the European
Community) have proved the success of the Fondation Villette-Entreprises concept.
The Fondation Villette-Entreprises members are companies that have decided to enter partnerships
with the Cite and other science museums in order to demonstrate:
- their ability to transform technological innovations into industrial and business successes,
- their contribution to the world's economic development,
- the challenges and opportunities of their professional sector, which account for today's and tomorrow's jobs,
especially in the scientific and technical areas.
